Dr. Craig L. Floch is the founder and senior partner of Fairfield County Bariatrics & Surgical Specialists, P.C. which has become one of the most prominent, dedicated, personal and highly respected practices serving all of Connecticut, New England and New York. He received his medical degree from The Chicago Medical School, University of Health Sciences.

Dr. Floch completed his five-year surgical training at Mount Sinai Hospital in Cleveland and Case Western Reserve University Hospital under the training of Dr. Jeffery Ponsky. He was Chief Resident of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University Hospital and obtained postdoctoral training in Laparoscopic Skills and Anti-Reflux Procedures at Yale University.

Dr. Floch has been trained in Laparoscopic Gastric Banding by
Dr. George Fielding and proctored by
Dr Edward Yatco of Lenox Hill in the Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy.

Dr Floch is certified by the Allergan Company. He performs both Laparoscopic Banding, Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy and Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass surgeries. He is currently the Director of Bariatric Surgery at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport and an attending surgeon at Norwalk Hospital. Dr. Floch is a Center of Excellence Certified Bariatric Surgeon by the Surgical Review Corporation.

Dr. Floch has been an instructor in the Yale University/Norwalk Hospital Surgical P.A. teaching program and for several years received the Malcom S. Beinfield Award for Teaching Excellence in the Yale/Norwalk Surgical P.A. teaching program on three occasions. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, the Connecticut State Medical Society, the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, the American Society of Breast Surgeons and on the Board of trustees of the Fairfield County Medical Association.

Dr. Floch is featured in the Consumer's Guide to Top Doctors as one of the 2009 Best Physicians as chosen by their peers. Dr. Floch is currently featured in a best seller; Marathon of Changes: A Transformation of a Baby Boomer. The author, Jo Ann Miller tells the story of her battle with obesity and her successful gastric bypass surgery by Dr. Craig Floch.

Ms. Miller is the daughter of Lt. General Thomas Miller (USMC), former head of Marine Aviation and the goddaughter of Senator John Glenn who wrote the forward for the book. Dr. Floch's interviews have been published on several internet sites and he has appeared on several television broadcasts including CT Style.

Dr. Floch has been designated as a "TOP DOC" by Connecticut magazine. Over 5,000 questionnaires were sent to doctors through out Connecticut. They were asked to recommend doctors that they would seek to provide care for them and their loved ones. Dr. Floch was selected to be part of this elite group.
